Stand on your head

ADVENTURE INTO CREATIVITY

Sometimes all it takes to stir up creativity in yourself is to look at something in a different way.

Whenever you feel stuck it can be helpful to get up and stretch, even try standing on your head, to literally give yourself a new perspective!

Today, we challenge you to get out of your regular habits. Are you willing to flip your perspective and try something creative?

Share your Design Challenge creations with us on Facebook and Instagram or email us at dailyadventures@tomtodideas.org. We can’t wait to see what you create!

FOR FAMILIES

Watch + Learn

Need a project? Use your creativity to clean up your neighborhood and help kittens! Amarildo Silva Fihlo turns thousands of discarded tires into beautiful beds for stray dogs. In an effort to blend creativity, sustainability, and charity on behalf of the town’s needy animals, Silva came up with an idea to turn thousands of discarded tires into beautiful beds for the strays.

Family Adventure-tivity

Try a re-imagined scavenger hunt: Find something unused in your house to repurpose into something useful. Our favorite is idea is to turn Baby Lotion Bottles Into Cell Phone Charging Stations. What could you possibly do with all those empty lotion and shampoo bottles? You can create a really handy cell phone charging station that keeps your cords from being out in the open. With just a bit of cutting and a little time, you can make this really handy cell phone charging station that holds your phone and the cord right up next to the plug-in so you save space and your cord is not lying on the floor (which incidentally is a bad place for it if you have pets).

Today, we adventure into creative ways to build Relationship Skills.

Relationships, or at least how we act within our relationships, look different today than they did a few weeks ago. Despite the changes to how we interact, they remain an important piece of our lives. CASEL indicates that communication, social engagement, relationship-building, and teamwork facilitate the creation of healthy relationship skills.

Introduce Relationship Skills

Relationship Skills are a primary SEL competency and a key tenant (collaboration) is also defined as a 21st-century skill. The following article shares 5 Strategies to Deepen Student Collaboration.
