ADVENTURE INTO OFFLINE GAMES
Welcome the week of BORED GAMES where we will explore games to break the boredom!
Let’s face it. You’re spending a lot more time in front of a screen. We know our families are! So, let’s take a look at some activities that will get us away from our screen for a moment AND help connect us.
We can’t wait to see videos of all your offline fun!

BIG QUESTION OF THE DAY
Why might it be helpful to also do things that don’t have “screen time”?
How can we more intentionally explore hobbies, skills, or relationships that are important to us?

THE GOOD STUFF
Watch + Learn
Totally eliminating screen time might be unrealistic and all but impossible in our current state of connecting, but placing limits on screen time has benefits to your overall health. You can also check out this interesting video (9:29) to learn what the “dog food rule” is and how it applies to companies that make tech products!
Play the game Spoons to break up the marathon of screen time. All you need is spoons and a deck of cards. Watch your fingers! (Level this game up by replacing the spoons with pillows, but placed on the opposite side of the room. Let the tackling commence!)
Student Design Challenge
Reverse Charades! Maybe you have played charades before, where you have to act out a word to get your team to get it. In this reverse version, the entire team has to act out the word and one person guesses. It’s way more fun and a great option if you have people who may not want to act by themselves!
