ADVENTURE INTO COMMON GOOD
At TomTod, we believe in exploring ideas for the common good. But what exactly is that? In today’s adventure, we challenge you to make the world a little bit brighter and happier and weirder! A great idea does not need to be big and complex.
Sometimes the smallest, silliest ideas can spread joy in HUGE ways. We believe that middle schoolers have great ideas for tomorrow in them today.
So, what’s your idea to change the world for the better? Are you up for it!?

Do you feel like you can’t help your community because of social distancing? Cleo Wade’s Ted Talk will remind you that, “We spend so much time thinking we don’t have the power to change the world. We forget that the power to change someone’s life is always in our hands. Change-making does not belong to one group of people;it belongs to all of us. You don’t have to wait on anyone to tell you that you are in this. Begin.”
Want to change the world? Start by being brave enough to care. (Check out 1:22-3:10 for a quick dive into how you can make an impact; Whole video is 10:53)
Create an surprise scavenger hunt of whimsy! Paint a rock or a weird object (like a golden T-Rex)! And then hide them as you walk around your neighborhood. (Who knows your whacky idea might even go viral and get you on the news like this dude!)
Playgrounds in parks may be closed, but that doesn’t mean we stop playing. Design a Pop-up a playground in your house for you, your younger siblings, or your family. Share your most creative features with us on Facebook or Instagram.
